Cookie Policy.
The eSIM.London cookie policy explains how cookies and similar technologies support our website, and how you can manage your preferences.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites can save on your phone, tablet or computer. They can help a site remember information between pages or visits. Similar technologies, such as local storage or tracking pixels, may also store or access information on a device.
Some technologies support essential functions, such as shopping baskets and security. Others may be used for preferences, website measurement or advertising. Their use depends on the features and services enabled on a website.
Types of cookies and similar tools
Our cookie controls distinguish essential functions from optional analytics. The categories below explain these purposes and how we would handle any additional tools introduced in future.
Essential services Core functions
Storage may be needed for website security, secure sessions, account sign-in and basket functions where used. Our controls treat essential functions as always on. Rejecting optional analytics does not switch these functions off.
Preferences Your choice
We use your browser's local storage to remember whether you accept or reject optional analytics. This record helps apply your choice when you return using the same browser. It is separate from analytics cookies.
Site measurement Optional analytics
Google Analytics is configured to load only after you allow analytics. It helps us understand visits and website use. You can reject it and continue browsing, or change your choice later through Cookie settings.
Marketing or advertising Future changes
Our current cookie controls do not offer an advertising consent option, and the Google Analytics configuration disables advertising personalisation. If we introduce advertising or other optional tracking tools, we will update this policy and provide appropriate choices before using them.
Your choices and control
You can accept or reject optional analytics using the cookie banner. You can also open Cookie settings at any time. Your choice applies to the browser and device you are using.
Accept or reject analytics
Choose Accept all to allow the optional analytics currently offered, or Reject optional to keep it off. Manage preferences lets you review the analytics switch before selecting Save preferences. Essential functions remain on.
Change or withdraw your choice
Open Cookie settings, switch analytics off and select Save preferences, or choose Reject optional. The consent integration is configured to disable further Google Analytics collection and clear its first-party analytics cookies. This does not automatically erase information already sent to Google; contact us about a personal-data request.
Website preferences
Use Cookie settings to reopen the controls. Your saved choice is treated as valid for 180 days. You may be asked again after that period, if you clear browser storage, or when using another browser or device. JavaScript is needed to use these controls.
Browser settings
Most browsers let you review, remove or block cookies in their privacy settings. Blocking certain cookies may prevent parts of the shop or account features from working correctly.
Services, providers and cookie lifetimes
eSIM.London uses WordPress and WooCommerce, with hosting, security and contact-form services supporting the website. Google provides the optional Google Analytics service. Cookies and storage used by individual features can depend on whether you sign in, use a form or interact with basket functions.
Cookies can last only while your browser is open (session cookies) or remain for a defined period (persistent cookies). Their duration depends on the specific purpose and technology.
Storage identified in our current configuration
eSIM.London preference record: esim_london_consent_v1 is stored in local storage by this website. It records your analytics choice, the time saved and a version number. The choice is valid for 180 days; local storage has no automatic browser expiry, so the record may remain until overwritten or cleared.
Google Analytics cookies: _ga and _ga_MNJQ9CQTF9 are first-party analytics cookies associated with our Google Analytics configuration. They support visitor and session measurement after opt-in. Our integration configures an expiry of 180 days; browser restrictions and later visits may affect actual storage duration.
Other website storage: the full register of cookies used by security, forms, sign-in and basket features remains under review. The entries above describe the consent and analytics configuration and are not a complete browser-storage audit.
Quick cookie questions
Are all cookies used for advertising?
No. Some support functions such as sign-in, keeping a basket or website security. Others may support preferences, site statistics or advertising.
Can I remove cookies from my device?
Yes. You can usually delete existing cookies through your browser's privacy or site-data settings. This may sign you out of websites or clear stored preferences.
Will blocking cookies stop the shop from working?
Some essential features, such as a shopping basket or secure account session, may rely on storage. Blocking these may affect how the website works.
Does reading this page change my cookie settings?
No. Reading this policy does not give consent or change your preference. To make a choice, use the cookie banner or open Cookie settings, adjust analytics and select Save preferences.
Privacy, updates and contact
When cookies or other storage technologies involve personal information, our handling of that information must also comply with applicable UK data protection law. For a broader explanation, please read our Privacy Policy.
